| Clinic Features |
Aurora Dental College is committed to delivering the finest progressive Dental Hygiene Education. Our bright, live-patient teaching clinic boasts over 2000 square feet of work space. All 15 clinic chairs, the latest from A-dec, are bathed in natural sunlight from our wall to wall windows.
Our clinic includes a 34-foot A-dec steri-center and numerous sterilizers. In keeping with our strict infection control protocol, we are proud to say our clinic features state-of- the-art equipment that utilize hands-free controls to eliminate the potential of cross -contamination. Even with this latest technology, we will continually evaluate our asepsis procedures to meet the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee Practices.
Students will have the opportunity to work with the Intra-oral camera, and along with the most up to date audio/video equipment, they will be able to transmit feed to anyone of our three plasma screens.
This truly unique environment is a testament of Aurora Dental College’s high standard of excellence in terms of providing the most advanced clinical environment with dental education in mind. |
| Dental Services provided at the Dental Hygiene Clinic |
Please be aware that because we are a teaching institution, appointments are generally longer than they would be at a general dental office.
Students are evaluated at various steps throughout the appointment; therefore, appointments are scheduled in two- to four-hour blocks. More than one appointment may be necessary to complete all dental hygiene procedures. The number of appointment times necessary to complete the process varies and depends upon the needs of the patient.
Ultimately students are expected to strive to fulfill daily clinical requirements in a timely fashion as they progress in the program.
Students have to successfully complete all of the dental hygiene competencies in pre-clinic before they are permitted to perform dental hygiene treatment on the general public. Services are all rendered under the direct supervision of dental hygiene and dental faculty.
Services we provide include:
- Dental Screenings
- Comprehensive Oral Examinations
- Dental Cleanings
- Dental Radiographs (X-Rays)
- Athletic Mouth Guards
- Tooth Whitening
- Dental Sealants
- Fluoride Treatments
- Tooth Desensitization |
